Hi all, i'm currently trying to set up a monowall system mainly for use as VPN-Server (pptp). I've done this before for a standalone m0n0wall with a DSL-Modem connection without any problems. Now i have to set up a similiar system but the difference is that there is a Router involved that is used as WLAN AP and VoIP-Gateway/Server. It's a very popular router (at least in germany) called FritzBox. This is a router with portfilter and WLAN AP so nothing unusual. The special thing about it is that you could also connect your telephone system to this router (ISDN/Analog) and could use your normal phones for VoIP (i'm using sipgate). Normaly i would to set the FritzBox into modem-mode, in this mode the router will act like a normal modem so that m0n0 could handle the connection to the Internet as usual. Unfortenatly this will also disable the phoning/VoIP features. So i tried to set up WAN as DHCP, the link is up but m0n0 seems to doesn't ask for an IP and no PC in the LAN could connect to m0n0. Next thing was to set up m0n0 as Static. Fritzbox will connect to the net (and to the WAN port on m0n0) and every pc should use m0n0 as gateway (using the LAN port on m0n0). In this setup i can connect to the m0n0wall but i can't establish a internet connection. (VoIP works fine, so the fritzbox itself is connected correctly.) Maybe someone on the list got itself a m0n0wall with using a Fritzbox and could give me some tips. TIA! Best regards, Denis |
