I had no issues during the update. "Sample size" was two m0n0walls 1.22 on
two identical WRAP platforms, with different configurations.

One was upgraded via MS Internet Explorer 6 on a W2K Workstation machine
(all recent SPs and hotfixes), the other one via MS Internet Exploer 7 (all
recent SPs and hotfixes) on a W2K3 Server SR2.

Perhaps your firmware upload got corrupted somewhere in the network or by
the web browser (or the firmware file on the HD). Bit flips in the network
are, as far as my experience goes, extremely unlikely. Browser fuckups can
happen, and subtle HD failures as well.
