Not really following the list, but scheduler is a Linux CRON Job. I'm falling a sleep now so no tutorial going to be given. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Buechler [mailto:cbuechler at gmail dot com] Sent: Thursday, October 11, 2007 6:41 PM Cc: m0n0wall at lists dot m0n0 dot ch Subject: Re: [m0n0wall] reboot scripting On 10/11/07, Wilson, Ron <rwilson at mpr dot com> wrote: > > Thanks for the reply. A better solution is fixing whatever makes you think you need a regular reboot. Several years of uptime on m0n0wall is not uncommon. Some ISP's do stupid things where the easiest thing you can do is just regularly reboot (like force a daily IP change in a fashion m0n0wall doesn't like, maybe) so it's not always a bad solution. > Just a friendly FYI to all you out there who reply to posts. For myself at least, you get what I have time for. Occasionally that's a lengthy explanation, but more often it's a pointer in the right direction. If people need more guidance, they're welcome to ask for it. Or in this case, I recommended the list archive because I know it's been discussed before, and didn't have time to search myself to find it. Looks like there is probably an answer here: http://www.google.com/search?q=scheduled+reboot+site%3Am0n0.ch > Also, > not all of us has a *nix box on their network to write shell scripts on, > nor do we keep cygwin up on our taskbar 247. > I'm not a big cygwin fan, I don't think it's currently installed on any of my machines, but as primarily a Windows desktop user, this is a must have on all my machines. http://getgnuwin32.sourceforge.net/ includes everything you need to run those scripts on Windows (though they may need minor modifications). > Finally, I agree with you that people should search the archives before > asking questions that have already been answered.
