Ok let me clarify something: the point of pronter is to simplify user access process. If you are the owner of caffe you don’t care what the RADIUS is, what u want is to have control of the network so only your customers can get online and no one else. Also, u don’t wanna do online and add user manually whenever some one new comes in to the store, you also don’t wanna give users ability to register on rather own because some one in car parked outside can access the net without buying your cookies ;-) In another word, the owner only has barins and time to just press one button on physical device. Then from it side we can either setup local userprofile or send the profile to radius time bound or not, loca or not that just details, the point is that you don’t have to open PC or web to give the customer the user name, and u can get as many username as you want on demand. -----Original Message----- From: Jewell, Michael [mailto:mjewell at law dot umaryland dot edu] Sent: Monday, December 17, 2007 8:47 PM To: Alex M; Monowall Support List; Mono Dev List Subject: RE: [m0n0wall] Ticket Printer Project It probably would be better suited as a web admin for a radius server, add user to radius, assign random password and expire to radius account, print username and generated password to ticket printer... although I know that it would probably be radius server dependent... -Mike ________________________________ From: Alex M [mailto:radiussupport at lrcommunications dot net] Sent: Mon 12/17/2007 7:18 PM To: Monowall Support List; 'Mono Dev List' Subject: [m0n0wall] Ticket Printer Project Hey all, I finally got some time for development. I wanna add ticket printing functionality for mono. Ex: Thermal printer connected to mono box via RS232 (Serial Port). Customer comes to the business (Café or Office or whatever) the employee presses the button on the thermal printer and mono prints the ticket with the Username and Password that will be active for x minutes. Same thing as you would get with D-Link DSA3100 hotspots but implemented in mono. Now if you are interested I would appreciate some here: a) I need to know if ppl want it as public release, and if u do I will need some one to help me w/ coding (I cant do everything myself) b) I need to find out how can I send (and receive) print commands from RS232 under BSD c) And we will have to do all the dity work that come as side affect of having b) integrated in mono interface. So im waiting for replies.
