I once had difficulty connecting to a mono with pptp and if I recall, the
log looked pretty much the same as yours after an attempt. The mono was
behind a Linksys wrt54g and the pptp port (1723) was forwarded to the mono.
We had to update the wrt's firmware and enable pptp passthrough to get the
pptp client to connect.
