I tried renaming the firmware fie (s/generic-pc/embedded/) again this  
morning, and the firmware upgrade worked.  I must of lost track of  
which renamed file was which previously.

My net5501 is running generic-pc-1.3b14.img with a Intel PRO 1000 GT  
installed.
