I don't have anything bridged, I really don't know much about it.  I am
using m0n0wall 1.3b18 just like you.  The problem is that some people
with newer vista machines cannot connect to the network.  When I use the
command ipconfig/all the ip address they are connected to is not in the
range of the router its like a 168.xxx.x.xx number which means it isn't
connecting to the m0n0wall correctly.  Modem <--> m0n0wall <--> 5 port
switch <--> 3 32 port managed switches <--> 5 port switch in each room,
instead 8 rooms have a wireless router turned into an access point by
turning the DHCP server off

All of it is Linksys equipment.  I have all default settings on the
m0n0wall, just have things changed in the captive portal.  There is no
timeout, or redirection or anything.  Once they are authenticated they
are in for good unless the m0n0wall is restarted and they will have to
authenticate again.  I also get a message on the monitor connected to
the m0n0wall saying "vr0: rx packet lost"  I am just a student worker
that was kind of thrown into this situation and I am just trying to
understand it.

I have similar thing here but I don't use managed switches

M0n0wall <--> AP (bridge)   wifi link   AP (bridge) <--> switch <-->
2*APs
broadcasting and 2 switches with 20 clients connected.
Although I don't use the logout feature. 
But it works fine with m0n0wall 1.3b18
What about your hardware, software?

I setup a network for a small dorm room building.   The internet
connection goes from the router provided by the ISP (it doesn't do any
routing functions, acts more like a modem) into the monowall.  From
there it goes to 3 managed switches, one on each floor.  Lastly, from
there it goes to each individual room.  There are almost 100 rooms in
total, and there are 8 wireless routers acting as access points in total
as well.  For security I use the captive portal.  I check each
resident's computer, and add their mac address to the pass through mac,
there is no user name and password system that I use.  The issue I had
with this is sometimes people wouldn't get connected to the internet, so
I would have to assign them an ip then use the pass through ip.  Now I
have everyone setup through the pass through mac, and the pass through
ip.  It works fine, but people are having problem with the wireless
internet.  Sometimes it lets them get out to the internet, and sometimes
it doesn't.  Is there some kind of setting in the m0n0wall that I have
to change to allow for these access points to work better?  Is there a
way I can manage these access points from within the m0n0wall?
