I want to thank everyone for your help! Falcor for the doc, Jim Wells 
for the extra info and Brian for the clue that I had not a bad nic but 
the box that I was testing on was very used in condition and seems that 
the PCI slot is bad.  Everything seems to be working fine here with the 
test so the next step is to deploy it.  Thank you all a million. Its 
people like you that make mailing lists worth while ;)
