Hi,

Both of the ones i'm just using are RealTek RTL8139 Cards, from 2 different
"no-name" , at least not "well-known" manufacturers....
Under http://www.freebsd.org/releases/4.9R/hardware-i386.html#ETHERNET the
Realtek RTL8139 are listed as supported.

I'm far from an expert, so you might want to wait for others to post
an answer for your question, but in the meantime:

Have you checked to see if your card is supported by FreeBSD 4.9?

I get the impression that not many cards are! It might even be that
"32-bit cardbus" cards aren't supported at all, but I wouldn't know?

You should be able to find linkage to a list of supported NICs by
searching the list archive.

Hope this helps (but as I said, better wait for the gurus to answer to
be sure!)
