make sure that your ps aux | grep syslog shows syslogd -m 0 -r. If the 
-r is not there you will need to add it in /etc/sysconfig/syslog file( 
on redhat type systems) then add where you want them in the 
syslog.conf. Works great!
Also you need to use the external IP and nat it to the syslog server 
from what I have found.
