Certainly I sympathize with this position, but I wouldn't assume this to be true. Also, I wouldn't assume that there's another machine that can be used for image hosting. While the current implementation is fine for the first version of this, hosting a couple of small images isn't entirely unreasonable for a future version. I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, since I'm terribly happy to have a functional captive portal. We can file this on a wish list to have 1-2 images (logo plus buttons) uploadable as well.
