This is what I have in my syslog.conf:
local0.* /var/log/m0n0wall-firewall.log
local7.* /var/log/m0n0wall-dhcp.log
*.*;local0.none;local7.none /var/log/m0n0wall-system.log
It will probably work with your linux syslogd as well, since it's syslogd
standard.
