I went back further in the archives and found people have had random reboot problems with the RealTek 8139 chipset. I look this morning and the thing rebooted 2 times since 1pm yesterday. No big deal though. -Rob ----- Original Message ----- From: "Holger Bauer" <Holger dot Bauer at citec dash ag dot de> To: <m0n0wall at lists dot m0n0 dot ch> Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2004 2:38 AM Subject: AW: [m0n0wall] Anyone have luck with a RealTek 8139 10/100BaseTX Just manually assign them and use DHCP on the LAN interface. After rebooting try to obtain an IP-Adress via DHCP on the first NIC. If it doesn´t get one try the next. If you get one you´ve found the LAN-Interface. Then logon to the webadministration and go to "status - interfaces". You see all your Interfaces. Now take another Client and connect them to one of your free ports. Reload the interfaces-page and check which status has changed. After doing this for all ports you should know which card is rl0, rl1, ... If you now wish to change the order of the Interfaces go to "Interfaces-assign". I hope this helps. Of course knowing the MAC-Adresses of your cards would make it much easier, but I also had Nics which hadn´t printed them on anywhere. regards, Holger Bauer -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Robert Staph [mailto:rstaph at digitalimpreza dot com] Gesendet: Dienstag, 15. I'm having a horrible time getting a junk box together for a friend with the only 10/100 cards I have left (RealTek 8139 10/100BaseTX). I can't get it to "auto-detect on link-up" when trying to assign interfaces. I know from digging, that the realtek cards (4 in system) will probably be named rl0-3. But I don't know it things will work even if I manuall assign them if they don't work with the auto assign feature. Any input would be lovely, Rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: m0n0wall dash unsubscribe at lists dot m0n0 dot ch For additional commands, e-mail: m0n0wall dash help at lists dot m0n0 dot ch ____________ Virus checked by G DATA AntiVirusKit --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: m0n0wall dash unsubscribe at lists dot m0n0 dot ch For additional commands, e-mail: m0n0wall dash help at lists dot m0n0 dot ch |
