I tried the generic ISO, but that stops with a
stack wrap arround in the boot loader!

Once uppon a time a company named "IBM" decided, that
640KB RAM would be sufficient for a "personal computer".
The remaining endles 384KB upto 1MB are reserved for expansions ROMs
to be plugged in later. That's the "option ROM".
