Summary: m0n0wall "generic" finds only the NE2k PCI/PnP, monowall does not support (anymore?) the NE2k ISA, nonPnP! picoBSD can find the card, so no general problem of BSD or the emulation. Nobody on this list actually uses NE2K ISA, nonPnP. The only way to make a NE2K ISA run is to generate a new kernel, which requires a complete BSD system to "make" and good freeBSD knowledge. There is absolutely no way to manually select drivers/parameters as in picoBSD or by hacking the disc image. That's not going to be implemented? What can/shall i do to make NE2k ISA nonPnP run without first need to become an expert BSD hacker? Any hints? Rainer |
