Wow you didn't loose much with the encryption on PPTP

1.97	vs w/WEP 1.87

I always thought that it would be more of a loss with the WEP

Subject: Some throughput testing

Hey all,
Here are some recent throughput tests to determine wireless PPTP client
feasibility on a m0n0wall box.

Most of this is just FYI, but if anyone has some tests, that show
different results please let me know.

TCP WIFI -> LAN Throughput
--all figures in megabits
--all tests conducted using a Sony VAIO PCG-462L (stock ethernet
equipment talking to a dual PIII Server

--PPTP using 128bit encryption
--40bit WEP used
--soekris 4511 with senao 200mw card, & hifn card (not used though)

software used: iperf 1.70 transferring for 60 second intervals

Conditions Throughput

Standard w/o WEP 4.65
Standard w/WEP 3.99
PPTP Client w/o WEP	1.97
PPTP Client w/WEP 1.87
