Booting from USB & default settings

Just out of curiosity, is there ever going to be a time when you can write
to and boot from a USB flash drive?

And is there a default interface setup for m0n0wall on the PC? For example,
IP address, LAN card selection...

Maybe by default all interfaces should be allowed to access the admin
interface, then selection be done from there?
