I just tried the instructions in section 3 of
with Win32 OpenSSL 0.97d from http://hunter.campbus.com/
and it seemed to work fine.

However you do need to ensure that you have an openssl.cnf file (the
one linked to in section 2 of the how-to works fine) AND that you've
copied the ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll files into your
winnt\system32 directory (or equivalent).

If this still doesn't work what errors messages are you getting ?
