It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I recently posted a 
perl script that takes an existing config.xml and a host_table and 
produces a new xml file, config_out.xml. For each host, host_table 
specifies: SubNetwork, IP address, Host-name, Domain, Note and MAC.
