What firmware are you using on the MA311?

The host-based access point mode on the Intersil PRISM cards has bugs when used with firmware
versions prior to 0.8.3 and is completely unusable with firmware versions 0.7.5 and 1.4.0-1.4.2.

Apparently, firmware 1.4.9 and 1.5.6 are known to work reliably."

Could be that you would have to upgrade your firmware....

the first post was only to figure out if someone has this thing working

i dont have a working setup on 1.0 for this purpose.
the m0n0 i´m running now is 1.0 with an external ap that does the dhcp, thats fine but not captive.

i try to build a m0n0 1.1 based public ap with generic old pc (fsc pIII 700, 256mb ram, 64mb doc)
an netgear ma311 (intersil prism chip) dhcp enabled on this and two intel pro 100b nic´s.

the thing works fine when bridging wireless to lan but only one time dhcp works
and if i enable bridge filtering nothing works even with   
any  to any 
rules for all interfaces nothing is moving the dhcp also stops working

without bridging wireless to lan dhcp did it also only one time
