• replace the legacy BRIDGE with if_bridge
• improve captive portal reliability and performance (e.g. by introducing SQLite to replace the various flat text files and corresponding lockfiles)

• certificate management for IPsec, webGUI, OpenVPN and captive portal
• allow bouncing with inbound NAT mappings (see this)

• support secondary networks on WAN interface (possibly with load balancing)
• time/day of week based firewall rules
